The “Dolphin Quest” & Marine Sanctuary

Adventure and awe. This itinerary heads north to the Dolphin House (Shaab El Erg), a horseshoe-shaped reef that serves as a natural lagoon for wild spinner dolphins.

• The Program:

  • 08:00 AM: Early departure to be the first boat at the sanctuary.

  • 09:30 AM: Enter the dolphin lagoon. Your private guide will help you enter the water safely and respectfully if the dolphins are nearby.

  • 11:30 AM: Sail to Carless Reef, famous for its giant “brain” corals and sea turtles.

  • 01:00 PM: Onboard Buffet Lunch with fresh salads and grilled meats.

  • 02:30 PM: A final stop at the Abu Nugar reefs for shallow-water snorkeling.

  • 04:00 PM: Return to port.

• Why it’s special: On a private boat, if the dolphins appear, you can stay as long as you want, whereas group boats must leave after 45 minutes.

• What to Prepare: Motion sickness pills (if the sea is choppy), an underwater camera, and plenty of sunscreen.
